About 35 National Park Service employees came to their work sites at Voyageurs National Park Tuesday to shut down computers and set phone messages to tell callers they are not at their jobs because of a federal government shutdown.

I love how Franken states that people are expecting Congress to do their job, then blames Republicans for everything and then uses words like terrorist and hostage. Al, this is the definition of not doing your job. Certainly Obamacare won't be defunded by this congress. So, sit down and give a little.

The reason we keep having these constant battles is because the Senate hasn't approved a budget even though the House has been sending them ones. There hasn't been a budget since 2009. This is why we keep having 'continuing resolution' battles. This is what keeps government open when a budget doesn't exist. Why can't this President and Senate pass a budget?

Compromise, negotiate, this is what rational people do and how a Constitutional Republic is suppose to work. If people really disagree with their representative or senator then the next election will sort it out.

Tea is way better for you than Kool Aid.

This shutdown is no more stupid than the one created by another presidential aspirant, Newt Gingrich., but it is just about as stupid. But that's what we get out of a gerrymandered congressional system that ensures re-election to some really ignorant people, not including, of course, our own Michele. Is there a person on the planet who actually expects that this shutdown will accomplish their goal of repealing Obamacare? As long as they are on the rampage, why not a repeal of Medicare and social security? That would put us into Hayek heaven, aka hell. Kool Aid? Tea? Someone down in those red states is drinking something bitter; we used to call it bile.

My, but I think we may have a tea drinker in our midst.

Live from New York! It's our Minnesota Senator Al Franken telling us " the Republicans insist on holding our economic recovery hostage..."
Here's the joke: What economic recovery is Al talking about?
The $85 Billion going to rich bankers...your son is an investment banker and that probably helps him put soup on the table....
or...the money you receive from lobbyist groups that insist you give arms to Al Queda rebels in Syria...
Please tell us what recovering economy you're talking about... because
throwing a few campers out of VNP isn't going to change much for the 300 people just laid off from Boise. Al, please dedicate the rest of your political career doing something about all the needless "government barriers to entry" that are killers for most small businesses.
PS If you are not a hypocrite you and your staff will get on the same Obamacare that you want us little peon workers on.
