Erica Christine Haugtvedt and Evan Benjamin Thomas were united in marriage Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 3 o’clock in the afternoon at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Westerville, Ohio, with Pastor Charlie Woodward officiating.
The bride wore an A-line strapless ivory gown with a lace overlay and the groom wore a black tuxedo with an ivory shirt and vest.
The bridesmaids wore ocean blue tea-length dresses and the groomsmen wore black tuxedos with silver vests.
Maid of honor was Carolyn Shank, Westerville, Ohio, friend of the bride, and bridesmaids were Jenny Bellville, Ironton, Ohio, friend of the bride, and Andrea Haugtvedt, Westerville, Ohio, sister of the bride.
Best man was Brian Downey, Kettering, Ohio, friend of the groom and groomsmen were Nolan Thomas, Kettering, Ohio, and Joel Lewis Thomas, Durham, N.C., brothers of the groom.
Reader was Jamie Lewis Thomas, Durham, N.C., sister-in-law of the groom.
Personal attendant was Jane Carlson, Port Charlotte, Fla., aunt of the bride.
Ushers were Larry Carlson, Port Charlotte, Fla., and John Wenberg Jr., International Falls, Minn., uncles of the bride.
Guest book attendant was Jody Youso, Britt, Minn., cousin of the bride and gift attendant was Jessa Youso, Britt, Minn., cousin of the bride.
Grandparents in attendance were John and Betty Wenberg, International Falls, Minn., Dick and Kay Ward, Vandalia, Ohio, and Jack and Martha Thomas, Delaware, Ohio.
A dinner reception followed in the church fellowship hall.
The bride is the daughter Curtis and Candace Haugtvedt of Westerville, Ohio, and Sharon, N.D. The bride is a 2005 graduate of Westerville North High School. She received bachelor degrees in English and Psychology from Ohio State University in June 2009.
The groom is the son of Jonathan and Susan Thomas of Kettering, Ohio. The groom is a 2005 graduate of Kettering Fairmont High School. He received bachelor degrees in English and Economics from Ohio State University in June 2009.
Both the bride and groom are pursuing doctorates in English at Ohio State University.
They currently reside in Upper Arlington, Ohio.
