Kostiuk, Thunberg vows exchanged in Ham Lake

 

Brian Glenn Thunberg and Courtnie Lee Kostiuk were united in marriage Sept. 6, 2008, at Majestic Oaks Golf Course, Ham Lake. Pastor Roger Allmendinger performed the outdoor ceremony.

A reception and dance followed at the Majestic Oaks Clubhouse.

Parents of the bride are Roger and Marilyn Kostiuk of International Falls. She is the granddaughter of Margarete Kostiuk of International Falls.

The groom is the son of Glenn and Carol Thunberg of Burr Oak. He is the grandson of Ruth Thunberg of Alexandria.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father.

Kristie Kostiuk, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and matron of honor was Stephanie Grimes, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Lindsey Lowe, Angela Schwiderski and Katy Billig, all friends of the bride.

Derek Allmendinger stood as best man, along with groomsmen Pete Olson, Peter Berven, Scott Morrisson, all friends of the groom, and Joshua Kostiuk, brother of the bride.

Ushers were Daniel Grimes and Wyatt LaVigne.

Attendants were Amanda Hostetter and Alicia Wang, friends of the bride.

Isabelle Grimes, niece of the bride and Cassidy Burns, niece of the groom were flower girls.

Scripture readers were Kay Burns and Holly Paquin, sisters of the groom.

The bride received her bachelor of science degree in applied psychology from St. Cloud State University in 2002. In 2007, she received a masters degree in psychology and counseling from Saint Mary’s University, Minneapolis. She is currently pursuing a certificate degree in marriage and family counseling from Saint Mary’s. Courtnie is currently employed by Touchstone Mental Health as a case manager.

The groom graduated from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D. with a degree in mass communication. He is currently employed by KSTC Television, St. Paul. Brian is also the lead singer and guitarist in a Minneapolis based band called Mass Drastic.

After honeymooning in Las Vegas, Nev., the couple currently reside in Crystal.
