1.02 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
A. Contractor’s are invited to submit sealed proposals for the construction of the proposed 0533C0115.000-Treatment Plant Reroof. The project is approximately 14,400 square feet in size and shall be constructed in one phase
B. The proposed 0533C0115.000-Treatment Plant Reroof includes General and Electrical Construction work. The project shall be bid as a complete project requiring General and Electrical construction contracts as one contract (single-prime). Work includes, but is not limited to, the following materials: demolition of existing roofing system and installation of new EPDM fully adhered roofing system. The project also includes removal and reinstallation of electrical conduit and wiring located on the roof as an alternate.
C. Bids will be received by the Owner, until 1:15 pm Local Time, August 2, 2012, at the Municipal Building 600 4th Street, International Falls, MN and addressed to Gary Skallman, in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by:

1. Bids will be opened publicly on 1:15 pm local time August 2, 2012 at the Municipal Building 600 4th Street, International Falls, MN.
2. Envelopes containing bids must be sealed, typed on the lower left-hand corner “Proposal” and with the name and address of the bidder and the date and hour of the opening and addressed to:

3. Each bidder must accompany his proposal with a bid bond, from Surety Company authorized to do business in Minnesota as the Surety equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of the proposal payable to the owner covering performance of the contract.
4. Bid security and contractor’s license shall be submitted i a separate, sealed envelope securely affixed to the front of the “Proposal” envelope.
5. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory Performance Bond or Bonds, in the penal sum; of the full amount of contracts as awarded.
6. Copies of the plans, specifications, and other contract documents are on file in the following offices and are available for public inspection;

8. It shall be the Bidders responsibility to make inquiry as to addenda issued.
9. Bids may not be withdrawn until thirty (30) days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bids.
10. A PreBid Site Observation and Bidding Procedures Seminar will be held at 10:00 am local time on Wednesday, July 25th, 2012, at the Project site. All bidders are strongly encouraged to attend.
11. Access to the Project site for the purpose of Prebid Observation will not be restricted.
12. Potential bidders and subcontractors are advised that this Project is subject to prevailing wage rates and other labor provisions identified in the Contract Documents.
