NOTICE OF FILING DATES FOR ELECTION OF MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL TO THE CITY OF BIG FALLS, STATE OF MN

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the City of Big Falls shall begin on July 31, 2012 and shall close at 4:30 on August 14, 2012.  The following offices shall be filled at the November 6, 2012 City Election:

    Mayor – for a term of two (2) years

    Two Councilpersons – for a term of four (4) years each

    One Councilperson:  Special Election to fill vacancy in term         expiring January 6, 2015

Affidavits of Candidacy are available for the City offices from the City Clerk at 410 2nd St NW, Big Falls, MN.  The filing fee for each of these offices is $2.00.  All candidates must be an eligible voter, must be 21 years of age or more on assuming office, must have been a resident of the City of Big Falls for 30 days before the general election, and must have no other affidavit on file for any other office at the same primary or next ensuing general election.
