Five Years

It has been five years,
We miss you every day.
Want to feel your hug,
And also hear you say…
“Love you my girl!”,
Just one more time.
To feel the calm embrace,
your gentle hand in mine.
To see the crinkle of your nose,
With that heart-warming smile.
To hear your bubbly laughter,
Feeling love all the while.
Holidays are getting easier.
Still, desperately wanting you here.
You were the glue
Holding all together so dear.
The days still go by,
Weather changes warm to colder.
Things do move on,
Grandchildren getting older.
New beginnings within the family,
You helped create and raise.
Wanting to be similar,
to the nurture of your ways.
Never once forgetting,
From once where they began.
What you stood for and taught,
Remembering only as Gram.
You would be so proud,
Of each and every one.
The strength and love you’ve shown,
Will be forever passed on.
Still such great emptiness,
Heartbreak and tears.
Learning to live without you,
Will take longer than years.
We forever hold the red rose,
In memory of you.
It’s delicate but resilient beauty,
Can only describe a person so true.
Naomi, Leah, Ruth, Denise, Connie and families

In loving memory of Ki.
It has been 40 years.
We miss you,
your brother
