Anita Jean Charbonneau, 85, of Littlefork, Minn., passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Littlefork Care Center, Littlefork.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, at Littlefork Baptist Church, with Pastor Greg McClellan officiating.
Anita was born to Myrtle and Earl Wilkins on May 23, 1933.
She was married to Emile Charbonneau on Nov. 23, 1952. They were married for 35 years until Emile’s death in 1988.
Anita worked at J & D Family Foods for 17 years as a cashier until her retirement in 2013 at the age of 80.
She loved working with all of the young high school kids and being a surrogate grandmother to them all.
Anita loved working crossword puzzles, playing with her cat, “Shadow,” and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to whom she was known as “Big Grandma.”
She is survived by her daughter, Cheri (Steve) Grotberg; her grandchildren, Scott Grotberg and Ashley (Brad) Turck; her great-grandchildren, Lexi and Riley Turck and Taylor, Katie, Audrey and Ryan Grotberg; along with many nieces and nephews that she dearly loved.
The family of Anita wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all of our wonderful family members who have helped during this difficult time, with a special thank you to Shawn and Erin Peterson and boys for always being there when Mother needed you.
