Bernice Evelyn Sapp, of International Falls, Minn., died Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Rainy Lake Medical Center.
She was born March 30, 1925, to parents Freeman and Grace (Batchel) Furman in International Falls.
Bernice was united in marriage to Roy Earl Sapp Jr. on April 20, 1952.
Bernice was a playground supervisor at Forestland Elementary School until retiring in 1986. She had also been a clerk at Woolworths and Stevenson’s.
She enjoyed dancing, archery, fishing, gardening, and canning. Bernice also liked spending time at Jim Emlaw’s cabin in Lost Bay on Rainy Lake.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; sisters, Mae Sutherland and Ann Emlaw; and brothers, Francis Furman and John Furman.
She is survived by her son, Dennis (Mary) Sapp of International Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Full Gospel Fellowship Church.
Visitation will begin at 12:30.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, International Falls, at a later date.
