Bobby Ray (Bob) Douglas, 77, of Aurora, Minn., died Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the V.A. Medical Center in St. Paul, Minn., after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born June 28, 1941 in LaFollette, Tenn.

He served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1968 where he met, and married his wife Patricia on Aug. 31, 1968. They were married for 50 years.

Bob was a lifelong Cleveland Indians and Tennessee Volunteers fan, and loved spending time with his grandsons.

He will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, bad jokes, and his great smile.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marrison and Bertha; siblings, Ed Douglas, Lois Pearl Douglas, Junior Douglas and Sue Stewart.

Bob is survived by his sisters, Helen McBrayer, Hibbing, Minn., and Donna Drayer, Mogadore, Ohio; wife, Patricia; son, Craig (Sarah) Douglas, Aurora; daughter, Marci Douglas, Duluth, Minn.; and two grandsons, Patrick and Ethan.

A celebration of life gathering will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, June 3, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Aurora.

A private, family inurnment of cremains will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Duluth.

In lieu of sending flowers, any monetary gifts received after funeral expenses will be donated to various veterans’ charities.
