On Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, Ethel “Mae” Mann was called home to our Lord at Rainy Lake Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Ethel or “Mae” as she was known to many, was born March 21, 1936, in Littlefork, Minn., to Lawrence and Inga (Dahl) Ingram.
She was a 1954 graduate of Falls High School.
She married the love her life, Chester “Chet” Mann, on Feb. 8, 1958, in International Falls, Minn. This is where they made their life long home on the farm, and raised their five children — Lawrence, David, Diane, Joe and Gary.
She worked jobs in food service throughout the years, at The Snack Shop, Chicago Cafe, and the Holiday Inn. She also raised her family and helped work on the farm.
Mae was strong and independent. She loved hunting, fishing, taking care of her garden and chickens (especially her favorite Speckles, who would jump right in her lap to be pet), the country/farm life, visiting with her many life long friends who are too numerous to name, going for her daily drives, and was known for her cooking.
She loved her church at Full Gospel Fellowship, where the Hostetter’s and their congregation have been such a blessing and looked out for her.
Most of all she loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Inga Ingram; brother, Robert Ingram; and her husband and best friend, Chester Mann.
She is survived by her children — Lawrence (Vanessa) Mann, David (Tina) Mann, Diane (Todd) Halvorsen, Joe (Jamie) Mann and Gary (Jodi) Mann; her 16 grandchildren — James (Nicki), Jessica (John), Tonia, Cherall (Luke), Dani (Brandon), Travis (Anna), Allen, Jody (Nicole), Tyler (Samantha), Chelsea, Josh, Brooke (Andrew), Trinity (Abbey), Emma (Jake), Cole, Hannah and Colby; her 17 great-great-grandchildren — Jayon, Luke Jr., Samantha, Connor, Daylon, Donovan, Rylee, Chloe, Jude, Mikiah, Jakob, Aiyanna, Reagan, Libby, Kendall, Weston and Mason. She is also survived by her special cousin, Carol (Peter) Boorman, who was more like a sister to her.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Full Gospel Fellowship, 1530 Sixth Ave. W., International Falls.
There will be no visitation prior to the service, and there will be a luncheon to follow in the fellowship hall at the church.
