Eugene C. Tomczak, 85, of International Falls, Minn., died Friday, May 17, 2019, at Rainy Lake Medical Center in International Falls.
Gene was born on June 27, 1933, in Sturgeon Lake, Minn. The Tomczak family moved to the Kabetogama area in 1938, where they operated a logging and sawmill business.
He attended school in Ray, Minn., and International Falls, graduating with the class of 1951.
Gene served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955.
He worked at the family saw mill and lumber yard at Kabetogama and later owned and operated Tomczak T.V. Repair in International Falls. He was known as “Gene the T.V. Man.”
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with the family.
He was a member of St. Columban Catholic Church in Littlefork, Minn.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Selma Tomczak; brothers, Bernard Tomczak and Rufus Tomczak; and sisters, Geraldine Dion and Lorraine Ruelle.
He is survived by sons, Daniel, David, and Frank Tomczak; daughter, Rebecca Tomczak; brother, James (Marlene) Tomczak; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services with full military rites were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, at St. Columban Catholic Church, Littlefork, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10.
Interment will be at St. Isidores Cemetery in Sturgeon Lake, Minn.
