Glenn Desens

With great sadness we announce the passing of Glenn Ivan Desens on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, in Sun City, Ariz. Glenn was 82 years old.

Glenn graduated Falls High School in 1955.

He was a member of the armed services, serving both active and reserves for 26 years in the United States Army.

During his career, he worked for Mando/Boise in the research department and served on the International Falls Police Department from 1969 until his retirement in 1994.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alice, of Sun City; and by his beloved children, Laurie (Ron) Lessard of Eau Claire, Wis., Ann (Duane) Scholler of Sun City and Susie (Tom) Frank of International Falls, Minn.

Glenn will be deeply missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren - Josh (Jennifer) Scholler; Nate (Rachel) Lessard and children, Asher, Greyson and Coley; Katie (Josh) Zimmerman and children, Everett and Farrah; Samantha (Lonnie) Butts and children, Lucie and Kylar; Lexie Scholler (Justin) and son, Jared; Nick Scholler (Andrea); and Maria Clark.

Also surviving are his brother, Dorlyn Desens; and sister, Carole Keute.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Eunice Desens; stepfather, Ray Proctor; sister, Janice Currie; brother-in-law, Bob Keute; and sister-in-law, Marlys Desens

Glenn will be remembered as a kind thoughtful person, generous and loyal; he was a man of service his entire life.

He enjoyed woodworking, volunteering, traveling, camping and anything that included family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Desert Garden United Church of Christ, Sun City West, Ariz.

A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at Faith United Church of Christ, International Falls.

If so desired, memorials would be preferred in Glenn’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, the Arthritis Foundation, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
