Madeline “Madge” Fern Baron, 92, of International Falls, Minn., died Friday, May 3, 2019, at her home.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, at Evangelical Covenant Church, International Falls, with Pastor Ed Natysin officiating.
Inurnment will be at a later date in the Veterans of Foreign Wars section of Forest Hill Cemetery, International Falls.
Madge was born Sept. 21, 1926, in Swift, Minn., the daughter of Conrad and Florence (Fish) Kittelson.
She attended the Holler Country School and Falls High School.
She married Harry Baron on March 5, 1945, at Fort Benning, Ga.
She worked as a homemaker and they made a home in International Falls, raised 12 children and she resided there since.
She received an honorary diploma from Falls High School in 1985.
She enjoyed playing cards and bowled when she was younger.
She was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2948 Auxiliary of International Falls.
She especially loved spending time with her family.
Madge was survived by her 12 children - Larry (Catherine) Baron of Nayarit, Mexico, Tommy (Donna) Baron of International Falls, Toni (Richard) Marple of Plymouth, Minn., Donna (LeRoy) Taylor of International Falls, James (Sharon) Baron of Thief River Falls, Minn., Debbie Allman of Longview, Wash., Laurie (Rob) Larsen of Longview, Tracy (Craig) Fremont of Clyde Park, Mont., Richard Baron of International Falls, Cari (Brian) Abts of New Hope, Minn., Heidi (Tim) Woelfel of Bird Island, Minn., and Paul (Trisha) Baron of Longview; 29 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Sophie Cyr of Fort Frances, Ontario, Betty (Bob) Hull of International Falls, Marilyn Wednchuk of International Falls and Carolyn Taylor of Fort Frances; brother, Melvin (May) Kittelson of International Falls; daughter-in-law, Jenny Baron of International Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, in 1974; her parents; granddaughter, Julia Baron; brothers, Delbert “Delly” Kittelson, Trevor Kittelson, Elmer Kittelson, Howard Kittelson, Harley Kittelson, Harold Kittelson and infant brother, Howard Charles; sisters, Florence “Tootsie” Baron, Hilda Major and Phyllis Klay.
