Marjorie Brenning

Marjorie Mary Lessard Brenning, 83, of Ranier, Minn., passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, July 5, 2019, at Rainy Lake Medical Center, International Falls, Minn.

She was born Sept. 14, 1935, in her family home in Ranier to parents Fred and Sophie (Mackowski) Lessard.

Marjorie was baptized, received first communion, confirmed and married at St. Thomas Catholic Church. She attended Catholic School from first through eighth grade and graduated from Falls High School.

Marjorie married Everth Wallace Brenning on June 18, 1955. They had four children - Monica, Carolyn, Eddy and Tony.

She loved her family and friends and showed how much through her soups and cooking delicious meals.

Marjorie loved to bring people together and passed those traits she called “herding” to her family members.

Through her life she was active in politics and was a Ranier council woman for years and also a very involved member of the Ranier funeral committee.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Sophie Lessard; husband, Everth Brenning; daughter, Carolyn Brenning; son, Eddy Brenning; grandchildren, Anne Marie Brenning and Lance Keckhafer; brothers, Leon (Bud) and Fred B. (Butch) Lessard; and sisters, Francis (Peaches) and Marvel (Dode Woods).

Survivors include her daughter, Monica (Bruce) Keckhafer; son, Tony Brenning; grandchildren, Alexandria Keckhafer and Joseph Keckhafer; also numerous other family members and friends whose support over the years had meant the world to her.

The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at noon Monday, July 15, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior to the funeral.

Interment will be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.
