Monica Elizabeth Larson died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at Chestnut Grove Assisted Living, Virginia, Minn.
She was born Oct. 10, 1951, at Mandan, N.D.
Monica was the oldest of 11 children.
She graduated from Falls High School in 1971.
She moved to Duluth, Minn., and later lived a short time in North Dakota and then moved to Kansas where she lived for many years.
Monica returned to Minnesota, residing mostly in the Grand Rapids area. For the last five years she lived at Chestnut Grove Assisted Living in Virginia.
She worked many different jobs over the years.
Monica was artistic; she painted pictures of flowers and liked to make small crafts from yarn. She enjoyed reading magazines and collected recipes from them.
Before entering assisted living, she was a letter writer. There was barely time to write back before another letter came in the mail.
We loved Monica dearly and will miss her greatly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Sr. and Rose (Baron) Larson; sister, Louise Carr; niece, Megan Larson; and nephews, Josh Pullar and Matthew Russell.
Survivors include sisters, Carletta (Rob Pullar) Larson of Albert Lea, Minn., Kathy Russell of Spokane, Wash., Theresa (Mark) Brunner of Ogden, Ore., Valerie (Ron) Long of International Falls, Minn., and Trudy (Dave) Gamber of Veblin, S.D.; brothers, Bill (Betty) of International Falls, Walter (Sandy) Larson of Mandan, Dale (Sherry) Larson of Elk City, Okla., and Vance Larson of International Falls. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Green-Larsen Mortuary.
Interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, Williams, Minn., at a later date.
