Paul Silas “Pops” Wilcox, 98, of Ranier, Minn. passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Rainy Lake Medical Center, International Falls, Minn.
Paul was born Aug. 10, 1920, in Mason, Wis., to parents Martin and Mary Ann (Roatch) Wilcox.
Paul served as a surgical technician in the United States Army during World War II in Philippines from September 1942 through December 1945.
Paul was united in marriage to Pauline (Stadnyk) Wilcox on Dec. 23, 1948.
He was employed by Mando from 1948 until he retired at the young age of 62 in 1982.
Paul was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Paul will be sadly missed by his immediate family, extended family, and many friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pauline; sons, Martin Eugene Wilcox and Van Wilcox; granddaughter, Nikki Pauline Wilcox; grandson, Corday “Corey” Wilcox; brothers, Charles Vernon, Stanley, Edward and Eugene; sisters, Rose, Geraldine and an infant sister.
Paul is survived by his son, Ron (Berta) Wilcox of Ranier; stepdaughter, Judy Holt of Littlefork, Minn.; daughter-in-law, Karin Wilcox of International Falls; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-granddaughters; sister, Lillian Friedbauer; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 5, at Green-Larsen Mortuary.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, International Falls.
