Sarah Kay Grover was born Sept. 8, 1967, and finally found her peace on Aug. 8, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Sarah was the second daughter born to Larry and Patricia Grover in International Falls, Minn.
Sarah attended school and lived in the Falls until her teenage years, she then moved to Rock Hill, S.C., where she later met and married Bob M. Doe and had three sons - Bob J., Jonathon and Thomas.
Bob and Sarah later divorced and she married Michael Grafton. Soon after their marriage, she returned to International Falls.
Sarah was completely devoted to her family.
Sarah had a very special relationship with her nephew, Christian Ramsey, and loved him as her own son.
Sarah had numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved with all her heart and assisted in any way she could.
Sarah loved to spend time with her family, listen to music, watch movies and go to the casinos anytime she could.
Her greatest hobby was to take family pictures and create collages and videos.
In 2015, Sarah met Doug Whitman and created a home in St. Cloud, Minn., for the past three years. Sarah and Doug were engaged but did not have the opportunity to get married.
Sarah’s greatest battle was to be her last when cancer intervened in her life. Sarah fought a courageous battle with both bladder and spinal cancer.
Sarah would say the she did not give up the fight, she only gave in.
Sarah was preceded in death by her mother; Patricia Grover; sister, Cristina Grover; stepson, Zak Whitman; paternal grandparents, Fred and Rachel Grover; maternal grandparents, Louis and Katie Noggle; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Sarah is survived by her fiancée, Doug Whitman; sons, Bob Doe, Jonathon (Alana St. Clair) Doe and Thomas Doe; father, Larry (Carla) Grover; and sisters, Lisa Meetze, Leah Houska, LeeAnn Brown, Tammy Munro, Loretta Martin, Penny Trafton and Victoria Bradshaw.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Green-Larsen Mortuary, International Falls.
