Scott Kermit Lundgren, 69, of Orr, Minn., passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019, in hospice care at St. Raphael’s, Eveleth, Minn.
Scott was born to J. Kermit and Delores (Hanson) Lundgren on Jan. 24, 1950, in Onamia, Minn.
Scott wore many hats and made many friends.
He served in the Air Force, Air National Guard and as deputy sheriff serving St. Louis County for 25 years.
Scott was a pilot, managed the Orr Airport, part of the Flying Club in Orr, a certified flight instructor, flew search and rescue and fire detection.
Scott had his captain license and ran the tour boat for the Voyageur National Park Service.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, J. Kermit and Delores Lundgren; and sister, Joan.
Scott is survived by his wife, Sandy; son, Jason; two grandsons and two great-granddaughters; three stepsons, Bryan Fultz, Damon (Kim) Fultz and Matthew (Nick) Fultz; five stepgrandchildren; and brother, David (Beverly) Lundgren.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, July 20, at the American Legion in Orr. The Honor Guard ceremony will be at 3 p.m.
Family will gather for visitation one hour prior to the service.
A get-together is planned for 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at Ash Ka Nam on Ash River.
