Shirley Ann Rinne, 86, of International Falls, Minn., died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, surrounded by her loving immediate family and all those who knew her as “Grams”. She resided at the Good Samaritan Society-International Falls.
Shirley was born Jan. 4, 1926, in Aitkin, Minn., to Edward and Cleo Aklestad.
She married Eino Rinne July 4, 1942, and lived in International Falls all of her life.
Shirley was a homemaker; she loved playing Bingo and loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her pets, and loved feeding the birds. She considered all kids her grandchildren.
She was a great cook, and loved cooking big meals for her family.
Shirley was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eino Rinne (1991); daughter, Judy Ann Rinne; sister, Carol Oustad; and brother, Clarence Aklestad.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Terry (Kathy) Rinne and James (Denise) Rinne; daughters, Patty (Frank) Pomeroy and Donna (Les) Ysen; grandchildren, Adam Burggraff, Cody Rinne, Isaiah Rinne, Shelly (Brent) Eggert, Sara (Derek) Achartz, Jennifer Ysen and Christina (Teddy) Saxton; great-grandchildren, Emma Saxton, Madalynn Saxton, Oliver Saxton, Amelia Eggert, Tanner Achartz and Riley Achartz; brother, Eugene Aklestad; sister, Eva Lindbeck; special niece, Kim Rasmussen; special friend, Winnie Smart-Jackson; and all of her extended grandkids that called her Grams.
A memorial gathering will be conducted from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at the Good Samaritan Society.
The family would prefer memorials in her memory to establish a memorial at the new Good Samaritan Society.
