Public Notice MINUTE SUMMARY REGULAR MEETING OF THE KOOCHICHING COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017; 9:55 a.m. MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioners Adee, Norby, Skoe, McBride, Pavleck MEMBERS ABSENT: None 000 The County Board approved the agenda for the January 10, 2017 meeting, approved the minutes from the January 3, 2017 regular meeting, approved payment of the Courthouse claims, the December Vendor List, authorized payment of first half 2017 budget allocations, approved payment of 2017 membership dues, approved budget adjustments, carried 2016 balances forward for the Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Program and Island View Sewer Project and authorized the addition of $334,000 to the Highway Expenditure Budget. 2017/01-11 Motion by McBride, seconded by Pavleck to approve the February/March County Board meeting schedule. Motion carried unanimously. 2017/01-12 Motion by Pavleck, seconded by Norby adopting the resolution for enrollment of part-time deputies in the PERA Police and Fire Plan. Motion carried unanimously. 2017/01-13 Motion by Pavleck, seconded by McBride approving RLMC In-Home Kidney Dialysis presentation on February 2, 2017 as a County Board activity. Motion carried unanimously. 000 Commissioner Skoe reported about a proposed DNR acquisition to create the new Watrous Island Scientific and Natural Area (SNA). PILT payments are expected to be greater than current tax receipts. 2017/01-14 Motion by Pavleck, seconded by Norby to authorize the Sheriff's Department to purchase an Aluma Snowmobile Trailer. Motion carried unanimously. 2017/01-15 Motion by Pavleck, seconded by Skoe authorizing Board Chair signature on the Delegation Agreement for the Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) prevention Inspection of Water-related Equipment. Motion carried unanimously. 2017/01-16 Motion by McBride, seconded by Skoe adopting a resolution to update the Koochiching County Comprehensive Water Plan. Motion carried unanimously. 000 Voyageurs National Park(VNP) Superintendent Bob DeGross and acting Superintendent Bill Carlson were introduced. VNP Superintendent is looking forward to continued open communication between VNP, the County Board and community members. VNP Superintendent and his team will be working on developing primary goals for the next three to five years and advocate for new ways to explore and use the park. VNP is close to completing a five year plan to remove large stands of invasive cattails which will begin the summer of 2017. 2017/01-17 Motion by Pavleck, seconded by McBride to approve expenditure of $6,000 to prepare the National Register of Historic Places nomination for the Williams Township School. Motion carried unanimously. 2017/01-18 Motion by Pavleck, seconded by Skoe authorizing the seeking of bids for foundation stabilization for the Williams Township School. Motion carried unanimously.
