Public Notice STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF KOOCHICHING IN DISTRICT COURT NINTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT In the Matter of a Hazardous House located at 1621 4th Avenue East, International Falls, Minnesota ORDER TO: Owner of Record: Linda Wakelin P.O. Pursuant to Minnesota Statues, Sections 463.15 to 463.261, the Council of the City of International Falls, having duly considered the matter, finds the building located at 1621 4th Avenue East, International Falls, Minnesota, legally described as Lots Nineteen (19), Twenty (20), Twenty-one (21), Twenty-two (22) and the South Half (S1/2) of Lot Twenty-three (23), Block Six (6), Holler's Addition to Koochiching, Koochiching County, Minnesota, to be a hazardous building for the following reasons: (as example) a. Building set on extremely dangerous foundation and building damaged and deteriorating beyond repair with demolition the only option; and b. House is abandoned and no utilities currently provided. 2. Pursuant to the forgoing findings and in accordance with Minnesota Statues, Sections 463.15 to 463.261, the Council hereby orders: a. The record owner of the above hazardous building or her representative to repair such building in accordance with the Minnesota State Building Code within 45 days or to remove such building within 60 days of service of this Order. b. All personal property or fixtures shall be removed from the building within 60 days and if not so removed by the owner, the City of International Falls may remove and sell such personal property of fixtures at public auction or may destroy said property if it lacks appreciable value. 3. The Council further orders that unless such corrective action is taken or an answer is served upon the City of International Falls and filed in the office of the Administrator of District Court of Koochiching County, Minnesota, within 20 days from the date of the service of this Order, a motion for summary enforcement shall be made to the District Court of Koochiching County, Ninth Judicial District. 4. The Council further orders that if the City is compelled to take any corrective action herein, all necessary costs expended by the City shall be assessed against the real estate concerned and collected in accordance with Minnesota Statues, Section 463.22. 5. The Mayor, City Administrator, City Attorney, and other officers and employees of the City are authorized and directed to take such action, prepare, sign, and serve such papers as are necessary to comply with this Order and to assess the costs thereof against the real estate described above for collection along with the taxes.
