Nearly everything we eat, wear, buy or sell in this country is transported by a truck, train or barge powered by diesel, a fuel linked to particulate air pollution. The American Lung Association in Minnesota is hosting two free workshops on biodiesel, a cleaner-burning alternative to traditional petroleum fuels on Thursday, June 21st from 2:00pm to 4:30pm and Friday, June 22nd from 9:00am to 11:30am at the AmericInn at 1500 Hwy 71, International Falls.
The workshop speaker is Hoon Ge of MEG Corp, a nationally recognized fuel expert. Workshops will cover recent refining changes in diesel fuels, how to prevent, identify and respond to issues with diesel fuels and the growing role of biodiesel in the transportation industry.
The workshops are sponsored by the United Soybean Board, Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council and Twin Cities Clean Cities Coalition. The events are free, but attendance is limited. Contact Lisa Thurstin at (651) 223-9568 or Lisa.Thurstin@lungmn.org to register.
