International Falls Fire Department
Fire: Firefighters spent about two hours Friday extinguishing a fire at a residence owned by Franco N. Orsi, Shorewood Drive. Department officials said the cause of the fire, which started in an attached garage and spread to the house, has not yet been determined. Damage to the residence is extensive.
Koochiching County Sheriff’s Office
Equipment fire: Jason R. Hauner reported Feb. 2 a feller buncher valued at $385,000 caught fire on the Biondich Road, Ray. Cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but is not believed to be arson, said the report which suggests the fire was caused by an engine compartment heater that was factory installed and may involve a design flaw.

BLOOD DRIVE SPONSORS NEEDED
Memorial Blood Centers are looking for blood drive sponsors. Memorial Blood Centers is an independent, nonprofit organization supplying life-saving blood and blood components to over 30 hospital partners throughout Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.
SKATING/SLEDDING PARTY
Ranier Recreation Club will host the annual Skating/Sledding Party from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Ranier Rink and Sledding Hill. Hot dogs, hot chocolate and S’mores will be available. Participants will be able to skate with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.
ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE
Faith United Church of Christ will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18, for the public to drop in any time to experience the Meditation Tables on their own time and at their own pace. There will be a reflection and an action at each of the six tables. Pastor Sue Hamly will be available for the imposition of ashes, or just to visit. Everyone is welcome. PANCAKE TUESDAY SUPPER
Holy Trinity Episcopal Church will serve a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church located at Fourth Street and Nine Avenue. Free will offering will be accepted. All are welcome.
