VFW AUXILIARY BREAKFASTS

Beginning Sunday and continuing the remaining Sundays in December, the Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2948 will serve breakfast at the Post dining room from 8 to 11 a.m. Menu consists of French toast, scrambled eggs and sausage for a donation of $7. This is a fundraiser for the Ladies Auxiliary, who donate their proceeds to help veterans.

LIBRARY BOARD GAMES

Board games at the International Falls Public Library are planned for 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday. A wide variety of board games for all ages are available. Play an old favorite or learn a new game.

BOOK SALE

Friends of the Library book sale is set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at International Falls Public Library. All sales by donation with proceeds benefiting the Friends of the Library support of library programming.

EXPORTING GOODS, SERVICES WORKSHOP

The Koochiching Economic Development Authority will host a workshop that provides information to businesses about exporting goods and services to Canada. The free workshop is planned for 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 9 at AmericInn. An optional $10 networking lunch is at 11:30. Featured will be trade representative for Canada and Mexico, Barb Mattson, from the Minnesota Trade Office; Don Bodnarchuk, Cole International, customs broker and freight forwarding company; officers from Canada Border Services Agency; and Canadian lawyer Lawrence G. LADIES VFW AUXILIARY

The regular meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2948 will meet at 5 p.m. (note time change) Tuesday at the Post Home. Following a brief meeting, members will go to The Spot on 53 for dinner. A suggested donation to the Food Shelf and a drawing for a life membership to National Home will be featured. Those planning to attend the dinner should contact Beth at 283-9029 to make a reservation.

SCHOLASTIC HOLIDAY BOOK FAIR

Scholastic Holiday Book Fair will be at the Indus School library Dec. 8-12. A variety of books and gift items will be available. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Thursday, 8:15 to 8, enabling students and parents to visit the library before and after the annual Christmas concert.

‘MUSIC IN THE DUNGEON’

The public is welcome to “Music in The Dungeon” as it continues at 2 p.m. Sunday with a concert presented by Holger Olesen, Birchdale. A member of The Sloughgrass Band, he will play a variety of music on the dobro. A Christmas laser show is included in the performance. Donations of $10 (children $5) are accepted, proceeds to benefit the promotion of music in the community. Elevator will be open for use. Refreshments will be served. CHRISTMAS KID’S SHOP

Kids are welcome to the Christmas Kid’s Shop planned for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, Dec. 6 and 13, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 820 Fourth St., to shop for gifts for parents. No money needed – payment will be a promise to do a good deed for someone else. Coffee and cookies will be available for parents.


Police Report

International Falls Fire Department

Car fire: Firefighters extinguished a fire in a car registered to Troy R. Bursch, Falls, at about 5:15 p.m. Monday at 507 Sixth St. A department official said the fire began in the engine compartment and moved into the passenger area of the car. Cause has yet to be determined.

International Falls Police Department

Theft: Jeanmarie L. Morrison, Falls, reported Monday the theft of a white gold wedding band from her workstation at United HealthGroup, 1925 Valley Pine Circle.

Hit-and-run: A vehicle registered to Bill L. Ewald, Falls, was damaged Friday when it was struck in the front end while parked at 301 Third Ave. by a vehicle that left the scene.
