‘SOLUTION MONDAY’ RECOVERY MEETINGS
An introduction gathering for a new “All” Recovery Meeting (RA) is planned for 3 p.m. Feb. 2 at Backus Community Center. For anyone suffering from any addiction or the effects of any addiction. Collision: Vehicles driven by Brittany N. Rognerud, Ninth Avenue, and Jenna L. Anderson, Shorewood Drive, collided Jan. 7 at Third Avenue West and 15th Street causing more than $1,000 damage to the vehicles.

The International Falls School Board accepted the resignations of cafeteria helper Cathy Morrison and Indian tutor Cyd Martin, hired Kathy Mattison and Phyllis Bahr as part-time cafeteria helpers and hired Elaine Ollikkala as a part-time playground supervisor at Falls Elementary.
International Falls Police Chief Tom Hardy told the Falls City Council he has changed his mind about retiring in April. He said he decided to continue serving as police chief until the Boise Cascade expansion project has been completed.

A total of over 2,000 cubic yards of snow, over 200 dump trucks full, have been removed from the downtown area since last weekend’s blizzard.

Sig Arason, veteran auto body and fender repairman with his shop at 510 Fourth Ave., today announced a partnership with his son, Gerald, recently returned from two years of army service.
Sale of Riverside Motor Court, situated west of Sports Stadium on the banks of Rainy River, was announced today. The new owners are Elmer Rostie, South International Falls, and Angus Lindquist, who is making his home at the motor court. They acquired the place from Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Gallagher.
A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. John Veranth, 1005 Ninth St.; weight, 6 pounds, 3 ounces.

The marriage of Miss Margaret McDonald, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.R. McDonald of Duluth, to Byron Jensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Jensen, Eighth Street, was solemnized this afternoon at 3 o’clock at Zion Lutheran parsonage.
A newcomer to the Falls High School faculty is A.O. Tatting, chemistry and physics instructor.
Mrs. John McKibbage was guest of honor at an impromptu dinner party in the Dutch Room before she left on the evening train to join her husband in San Pedro, Calif.
T/5 Orval Hartje left for Hot Springs, Ark., after spending a 21-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hartje, at their home in Carson-Lupie.
