Rosetta Lyman, 90

Rosetta Lyman, age 90, of Zumbrota, Minn., died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Zumbrota Health Services.

Rosetta Mae Teal was born March 4, 1924, in Gardner, N.D., to James “Marland” and Lillie (Halliday) Teal.

At age 5, she moved with her family to International Falls, Minn., where she married John B. Lyman on Nov. 10, 1940.

The couple lived in various places until moving to Rochester, Minn., in July of 1955, where she worked for SuperValue Foods.

In 1968, the couple moved to Mazeppa, Minn., where they owned and operated a Bakery and Coffee Shop.

Mr. Lyman died Dec. 21, 1973.

Rosetta moved to Zumbrota in 1977, where she was the Bakery Manager for Red Owl (Hub Foods).

She moved to Spring Valley, Minn., where she owned and operated the Parkview Motel until her retirement in 1999, when she moved to Halter Terrace in Zumbrota.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mazeppa, a member and past president of the B.P.O. Does of Rochester, the Red Hat Ladies, and the Halter Terrace Coffee Club.

Rosetta enjoyed cooking/baking (especially decorating gingerbread houses), crafting/beadwork, gardening, and doll making/collecting.

Survivors include three sons, John (Rosemary) of Whitefish, Mont., Lowell (Marie) of Zumbrota and Jeffrey of Rochester; two daughters, Bunny (Lary) Ronningen of Goodhue, Minn., and Margaret (Justin) Perish of Rockwall, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Rosetta was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant daughter; daughter, Lynn Johnson; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; her brother; and two sisters.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at the United Methodist Church of Mazeppa with Pastor Dave Neil officiating.

Burial will be at Mazeppa Cemetery.

Friends called from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at Mahn Family Funeral Home – Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, and one hour before the service at the church.

Lahmayer, Maxa exchange vows

Jennifer Lahmayer, of Ranier, Minn., and Matthew Maxa, of Chaska, Minn., were united in marriage Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at an outdoor ceremony at the bride’s parents’ home in Wrenshall, Minn.

Pastor Darren Olson performed the ceremony.

The parents of the bride are Bill and Terry Lahmayer, Wrenshall, and the groom’s parents are Max and Deb Maxa, Chaska.

The bride is a graduate of Falls High School and graduated in 2007 from San Diego Christian College with a bachelor of arts in communication. She is currently employed at St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee, Minn.

The groom is a graduate of Chaska High School and graduated from Brown College with a bachelor of arts in business management and currently works as an operations manager for Rhino Technology in Eden Prairie, Minn.

A reception took place at Tycoons Alehouse in Duluth, Minn.

The couple resides in Carver, Minn.


Lilith Elizabeth Anderson, 92

A memorial service for Lilith Elizabeth Anderson, 92, of International Falls, who died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at Faith United Church of Christ, International Falls.

Officiating was the Rev. Sue Hamly.

Organist was Joe Belanger. Vocalists were Harold and Carmelle Anderson. Dr. Bruce Lidkea played the bagpipes.

Remembrances were given by Raymond Anderson, Harold Anderson and Ariel Anderson.

Interment was in the Veterans of Foreign Wars section of Forest Hill Cemetery.

Arrangements were with Green-Larsen Mortuary Inc., International Falls.

Hot meals for people 60 or older are served at noon Monday through Friday at Koochiching County Senior Center, 307 Fourth St.

Meals are for anyone, regardless of income. A $4 donation is suggested. Meals are subject to change. Participants under age 60 are welcome at $7.50 each.
