Local emergency responders joined forces over the weekend to help make the holiday season a little brighter for some Borderland families.

The second annual “fill the ambulance” effort, sponsored by the International Falls Fire and Ambulance Service and Police Department, collected more than 400 toys, 78 pieces of clothing, several pounds of food and monetary donations. Everything was delivered to The Salvation Army Monday.

A post about the event on the International Falls Fire/Rescue/EMS Facebook page said, “We are so humbled by the members of the community that donated to our drive.”
