The school year has begun and the library is ready to help. We have books for the youngest infant, the oldest senior and everyone in between. We can provide you with informational resources from books to magazines to movies. Everyone can and should be learning something new every day; let us be your source for new things. Come check us out!
The junior room is now open the same hours as the rest of the library. Let us help you and your children find the books they need and want to make this school year terreadfic! The library is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 10 to 6; and Saturday, 10 to 3. The library can help you make reading and learning a regular part of your life.
The library is recruiting volunteers. We would like to get a group of people who would come in for a couple of hours each week and process new materials. We will provide all the training needed to prepare books, audiobooks and movies for check out by the community. If you are interested in volunteering at the library at a set time each week to cover book jackets, add stickers or stamps to books or movies please stop by the circulation desk at the library and fill out a volunteer application.
We are also looking for a volunteer or two to take books to homebound patrons as they need them. We currently have one patron, who is an avid reader that can no longer get to the library to get books and magazines. If you would be interested in meeting with a fellow library user, picking out books for someone to read, again, please stop by the library and pick up a volunteer application.
If neither of the above opportunity sounds like something you’d be interested but would like to volunteer at the library, please stop by and talk to Diane about other possibilities. We would love to have an active volunteer group at the library.

Pet of the Week
Hello, my name is “Helen.” I am as pretty as can be with my beautiful golden eyes and white bib. I enjoy being held, but right now my most comfortable spot is hanging out in my kennel and letting my people friends come to me and pet me. I am getting to know the other cats here at the Holding Facility and I am very happy to report, they are all very nice. I feel so safe here. This life makes me happy. I know I need to have a little patience. Patience is a virtue I am told. What I am talking about is finding my forever home. I know the perfect person for me will walk through that door very soon and we will know that we were meant for each other in that instant. I am spayed and up-to-date on shots. So, if you are out there, which I know you are, won’t you please come and meet me so we can share that magical moment with each other? — Always, Helen
