Dorothy Mable Iraci, 96, of International Falls, Minn., died peacefully at Rainy Lake Medical Center Wednesday evening, Jan. 7, 2015.
Dorothy was born May 18, 1918, during an air raid in Cambridge, England, to Abedneg (Ben) and Mabel Moden Mears.
Dorothy immigrated to Canada at age 8 and lived on the prairie for 2 1/2 years. She returned to England for six months then returned back to Canada in May 1929.
She came to the United States on Sept. 9, 1929, where she lived in Osceola, Iowa, until coming to International Falls on May 13, 1936.
Dorothy worked as a housekeeper and nanny until she was united in marriage to Sam Iraci and his two children on July 27, 1940.
She gave birth to her daughter, Josephine Mae, July 29, 1947.
Dorothy worked in the Insulite division of Boise Cascade during the war and later became a homemaker.
She loved her big garden, especially her flowers. She enjoyed sewing and reading.
She catered weddings and started cooking for the Senior Center in March 1988 for over 11 years. Following retirement from the Senior Center, she cooked at the Country Club and Boise dinners. She planned, catered and cooked for many meals at the Moose Club and St. Thomas Church. She resigned from the league president and cook positions at the church on July 14, 2006.
Dorothy was an all-around volunteer and loved helping others.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam; step-daughter, Mary Ann Chezick; and daughter, Josephine Mae McLaughlin.
Dorothy is survived by step-son, John (Marge) Iraci; her special son-in-law, Paul McLaughlin of Renville, Minn.; grandchildren, Geoff (Angela) McLaughlin of Blaine, Minn., Gina McLaughlin of Blooming Prairie, Minn., special granddaughter and companion, Theresa Chezick; grandchildren, Fran Brady and Ed Chezick of Michigan, Paul (Jan) Chezick of Rochester, Minn., Mark Chezick of Aurora, Colo., Tony Chezick of Las Cruces, N.M., Joseph Chezick of Lakeville, Calif., Virginia Chezick of International Falls, Margie (Jim) Lucachick of Bemidji, Minn., Steve Iraci of St. Paul, Minn., and Mike Iraci of Baudette, Minn.; 11 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and many special friends.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30, at Green Larsen Mortuary, International Falls.
Mass of Resurrection will be offered at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, International Falls.
Interment will be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, International Falls.

Doris Stromstad passed away at the LifeCare Greenbush Manor, Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at the age of 89.
Doris was born May 1, 1925, on the farm in Pencer, Minn., to Anna (Carlson) and Anton Skoien.
She attended grade school in Pencer and was confirmed at the Salem Lutheran Church.
She and Joseph Stromstad were married March 31, 1948, in Wannaska by Rev. Ostby.
They farmed for a short time in Roseau County, before moving to International Falls, Minn., in 1955 when Joe was employed by the paper mill.
They moved back to Roseau in the 1980s to retire, and most recently live in the Greenbush Manor.
Doris loved painting, all types of art, cooking and baking.
Her relationship with the Lord was her first priority and she enjoyed her various churches.
She will be remembered as a friendly, loving and humble person who loved the Lord.
She is survived by her children, Blanche Eastman of Buckeye, Ariz., Keith (Cindy) Stromstad of Bergland, Ontario, Lyle (Debra) Stromstad of Mesa, Ariz., and Jason Stromstad of Scammon Bay, Alaska; grandchildren, Adam, Scott, Andrew, Jody, Nathan, Jason and Mark; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at the Evangelical Covenant Church, Roseau, Minn.
Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment at the Salem Cemetery will be at a later date.

A funeral service for Grace “Coral” Dickson, 93, who died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, was conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, International Falls.
Officiating was President Dan Hilke.
Music was by Sara Barrios and Cathy Coleman.
Prayers were given by Steve Atwood and Russel Dobbins.
Eulogy was given by Sheila Tate and talk by Steve Mitton.
Casketbearers were Daniel Dickson, Robert Tate, William Dickson, Shawn Dickson, David Dickson, Matthew Maki, Marc Dickson and Russell Petrick.
Honorary pallbearers were all her loving grandchildren.
Interment was at the American Legion section of Forest Hill Cemetery, International Falls.
