Sandra Augusta Trappe died suddenly Friday evening, Nov. 21, 2014, at her home in Littlefork, Minn.
Sandra was born March 5, 1940, in Chicago, Ill., to Norris and Marie Edwards.
As a child she lived in various areas of Minnesota; Becker, Marcell and eventually Grand Rapids.
Sandra graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1958 and went to Duluth, Minn., where she trained for a nursing degree. She graduated as a licensed practical nurse and worked at Miller-Dwan Hospital where she had her training.
Sandra was united in marriage to David Trappe on Dec. 24, 1960.
They moved to Littlefork where she briefly worked at the Littlefork Hospital and soon after she concentrated on being a mother and a housewife.
Sandra was a strong believer in God’s word and tried to live a life pleasing to Him.
She used to be a regular visitor to folks in the hospital and nursing home where she would try to be of help to those she visited.
She loved to visit with her close friends and got together regularly for coffee time gatherings at one of the two restaurants in the community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norris Edwards and Marie Gorin; brother, Phillip Edwards; twin siblings at birth; stepfather, Julius Gorin; and stepmother, Clara Rasmussen.
Sandra is survived by her husband, David; son, Douglas Trappe (Janine); daughter, Kathleen Siltman (Dan); six grandchildren, Dana Eckre (Jackie Lucca), Josie Samson (Steve), Emily Trappe, Nick Siltman (Amy), Jordan Siltman and Marissa Siltman; nine great-grandchildren, Madison Porter, MacKenzie Eckre, Howard Solem, Olivia Eckre, Avalynn Eckre, Brody Samson, Reese Samson, Avril Bruce and Ashlyn Siltman; and sister-in-law, Deanna Edwards.
Sandra is now with her mother, brother and others who have passed on before her and she is no doubt happy to be in the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ. We will miss her but hope someday to join her there.

Interment will be at a later date at Oakley Cemetery, Littlefork.
