Ramona Anderson, 75
  • Updated

Ramona Anderson, 75, of International Falls, Minn., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society-International Falls.

Mona was born July 25, 1939, in International Falls, the daughter of Archie and Ella (Tverberg) Anderson.

She graduated from Falls High School and made her career in the healthcare field, always taking care of others.

She spent most of her working years at Fairview-St. Mary’s in Minneapolis, Minn., and after retirement returned to International Falls to be near her family.

Mona was a cheerful person who lived each day with a positive attitude. She enjoyed life to the fullest but will be especially remembered for her love of people, music, sports, and animals.

She made every family gathering fun by playing her guitar, singing and yodeling. She was a huge fan of country western songs and could sing them all and name the artist.

While she loved all animals, she had a soft spot for cats and dogs and carried dog treats in her pocket. In the same way, she loved and enjoyed children and there are generations of children who have their own special memories of Mona.

She lived modestly and gave generously. She was a nurse and always a caregiver. She valued everyone exactly as they were and had a way of making everyone feel special. She was loyal to her family and friends and shared her laughter and kindness with everyone.

While she will be missed by so many, she will live on in the hearts of everyone who was privileged to know her.

Mona was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clifford, Donald and Dennis Anderson; and sisters, Jane Anderson and Deloris (George) Sirotiak.

She is survived by sisters, June Jackson Nelson and Doris (Robert) Pullar; sisters-in-law, Susan (Dennis) Anderson and June (Donald) Anderson; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Mona will be greatly missed by her family and friends – truly to know her was to love her.

A gathering of family and friends for a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

The family would prefer memorials to the Salvation Army or Falls Hunger Coalition.

Condolences may be left at www.greenlarsen.com.

Arrangements are with Green-Larsen Mortuary Inc., International Falls.
