Thiele also reports he has been seeing a pair of what he thinks
are brush wolves, or coyotes, the last couple of weekends on the
lake. “They appear to be a pair that are denned up nearby,” he
notes. “Beautiful animals and covered distances very quickly.”
Local photographer Mike Thiele reports seeing lots of birds, among other wildlife, the past two weekends around his cabin on Rainy Lake. He said he’s seen evening grosbeaks, rose breasted grosbeaks, hairy woodpecker, downy woodpecker, blue jays, and lots of chickadees and red breasted nuthatches.
