The following responses from two candidates were inadvertently missed when The Journal published its Voter Guide information in the Wednesday and Saturday editions of last week.
Bill Fairchild Jr.
Bill Fairchild Jr. is seeking one of two, four-year terms on the Littlefork City Council:
I was born and raised in Littlefork and attended Littlefork-Big Falls School. I lived in the Twin Cities and parts of southern Minnesota for several years before my wife, Tammy, and I moved back to a community we knew would be safe and inviting — Littlefork. We knew this this was the community we wanted to raise our children in.
Allison, the first of our two girls, attended Littlefork-Big Falls and is now pursuing her PhD in School Psychology. Megan, our youngest, will be graduating from L-BF in the spring.
Our children’s futures are my biggest concern going into this election and I want to bring Littlefork the change it deserves.
I have worked at Koochiching Health Services for the past 12 years and have been the president of its union for the past five years. My wife and I have been lucky enough to find employment in our hometown, but this isn’t the case for everyone else in this community.
If elected, I would work to bring more career opportunities back to our town and hopefully give our kids a new view of career choices in our own neck of the woods.
I would value your vote as a parent, coworker, Viking, neighbor, and friend.
Curtis Porter
Curtis Porter is seeking the two-year term of Big Falls mayor:
I, Curtis Porter, moved to Big Falls in December of 2015 — been visiting the city for 20 plus years.
I fell in love with the city, the people, and what it all has to offer. I would like to be a part of helping keep building the city and economy.
I feel I can help with building our city as a fresh set of eyes with ideas and drive to make our city bigger and even more beautiful for all who live here and visit.
I will try to help the city make more money, friends, and return visitors, as well as friends and neighbors who live in our beautiful city of Big Falls that we are all proud of.
We need to get more visitors and keep our return visitors keep coming back, seeing the changes, and what the city and community has to offer.
I will try to save the city monies where it is being spent now.
I thank each and everyone for their views and support on Nov. 6. Vote Curt Porter for change and new ideas and views.
