It is with great sadness that the family of Enid Barbara Coran announces her passing Wednesday, April 24, 2019, in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Barb was born Feb. 20, 1935, in Fort Frances, Ontario, to Louis and Elsie Carpenter.
She lived in Fort Frances all her life.
She worked as a nanny for George Armstrong for many years.
She was an active and longtime member of St. John’s Anglican Church.
She was married to Rudolf Coran on April 28, 1984, and settled into her role as wife and homemaker.
She was predeceased by her husband Rudolf on Jan. 9, 2006; parents, Louis and Elsie; and siblings, Gloria, Cynthia, Angela, Bernard and Joy.
Barb leaves behind her sister, Brenda and husband Tom Haney of Fort Frances; brothers-in-law, James Briggs of International Falls, Minn., and Ray Coran of Fort Frances; sisters-in-law, Tony Edgett of Fort Frances and Olympia (Joe) Benassi of International Falls; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and the Coran family.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at St. John’s Anglican Church with Fr. Musonda Abel Ng’ andwe officiating.
Friends visited one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers were Brian Briggs, Kim Metke, Michael Coran, Perry Trask, John Briggs and Richard Perron.
Honorary pallbearers were Evelyn Metke, Sarah Gervais, Karen Haney and Teresa Gustafson.
