Capt. Tyler Kostiuk was promoted Dec. 1, 2012, to his current rank while deployed to Combat Operating Post McClain in Afghanistan.
Capt. Kostiuk is currently assigned to Security Force Assistance Advisory Team 2 (SFAAT) which works directly with Afghan Federal Police. Their primary role is to mentor Afghan units and help them achieve levels of proficiency so they can lead and conduct independent security operations in the future.
Capt. Kostiuk is based out of Fort Bliss, Texas.
