Alice A. Miller

Alice A. Miller, 83, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, after a short battle with cancer, at Rainy Lake Medical Center hospital campus.

Alice was born Dec. 1, 1928, in Ericsburg, Minn., at the home of her parents, Oswald and Erna Drechsler.

She lived her entire life in the International Falls area and graduated from Falls High School in 1947.

She married the love of her life, William (Bing) Miller on Sept. 11, 1950, and had two sons, William R. (Bill) and Barry Miller.

Throughout her life, Alice worked at Pearson’s Bakery, JCPenney, Highway Curb Restaurant, International State Bank and retired from the North Koochiching Sewer Board.

Alice had many hobbies, including sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, needlepoint, golfing, curling, bowling, ceramics, painting and doing puzzles. She was a member of the Falls Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Margaret Corell Club.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Oswald and Erna Drechsler; her husband, William (Bing) Miller; sisters, Hilma Bass and Gerda Urban; brothers-in-law, Clarence Bass, Frank Urban and Julius Urban.

She will be sadly missed by her sons, William R. (Bill) and Delia (Dee) Miller of Niceville, Fla., and Barry and Cheryl Miller of International Falls, Minn.; sisters, Ellen Urban and Mae Arveson; brother-in-law, Lloyd Arveson; her grandchildren, Sarah and Joe Casareto of Forest Lake, Minn., Joshua Kubat-Miller of International Falls, Minn., Jessica Kubat-Miller of Coon Rapids, Minn., Kayleen and Jon Creinin of Miramar Beach, Fla.; and her great-grandchildren, Nicholas Casareto and Ayla May Pelland; nieces and nephews, including Sue Mathews, Tim and Lisa Urban, Brian and Steph Mathews, Robert Bass, Carol Bass and John and Pam Bass.

A memorial service will be planned for a date in the near future.
