Ann Rasmussen

Ann Catherine Rasmussen, 96, of International Falls, Minn., died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Rainy Lake Medical Center.  

Ann was born Nov. 30, 1915, in Mondare, Alberta, Canada. She grew up in Fort Frances, Ontario, and moved to International Falls in 1936.  

The former Ann Dronyk married Lawrence Rasmussen on Sept. 16, 1936 in Fort Frances. They were married until Lawrence passed away in 1974.

She was a homemaker, a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, and Funeral Lunch Committee for several years.

Ann enjoyed quilting and making baby quilts. She babysat her grandchildren, and for many years enjoyed fishing, baking, cooking, canning pickles, and making fish soup.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pearl Dronyk; husband, Lawrence; sister, Verna Overand; and three brothers, Nick, Mac and John Dronyk.

Ann is survived by three daughters, Jerri (Pat) Lindsey of Fort Meyers Beach, Fla., Paula (Jerry) Forpahl of Coon Rapids, Minn., and Linda (Dan) Vellieux of Appleton, Wis.; five grandchildren, Patty, Kathy, Joel, Chad and Derek; and eight great-grandchildren, Alicia, Brianne, Lindsey, Michael, Parker, Alex, Izzy and Dahlia.

Visitation with Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be offered one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral Mass Saturday, July 14, at St. Thomas Catholic Church.

Interment will be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.
