Avis (Panula) Haugland
Avis Minerva Lorelie (Panula) Haugland passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012, in Rogers, Minn.
She was born Sept. 30, 1924, to Victor and Matilda Panula in Chisholm, Minn.
Avis graduated from Chisholm High School with honors. She became a Methodist Kahler Nursing School grad, and Cadet Nurse in Rochester. She was a registered nurse in Chisholm, Minn., and at Falls Memorial Hospital.
Avis and Henry Haugland were married May 8, 1948.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Matilda; and sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Donald Johnson.
Avis is survived by her husband, Henry; daughters, Marlys Simonson and Gretchen (Marty) Plantenberg; grandchildren — Marcus (Tiffany) and their children, Noah and Isaac Simonson; Melissa (Michael) and their children, Keira, Koltan and Kaci Ingebritsen; and Adam and Hilary Plantenberg.
She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church (Martha Circle), until moving with Henry to Rogers, Minn., her last few years.
Her family and friends will celebrate her life at a memorial service at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Zion Lutheran Church.
