Barbara 'Ann' Rogers

Barbara “Ann” Rogers, 79, of International Falls, Minn., died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at the Ranier Roost, Ranier, Minn.

Ann was born March 29, 1933, at Two Harbors, Minn., to Violet and Hokan Lind.

She lived in Castle Danger, Minn., for five years, moving to Duluth, Minn., in 1938.

She attended Lester Park grade school and East Junior High. In 1951 she graduated from East High, one of 47 students in the first graduating class. She attended Duluth Business University as a comp operator.

She moved to Baudette, Minn., and married Marvin Mallberg. A daughter, Mary Mallberg Fisher was born.

She moved to International Falls in 1957.

Ann worked at Martin Grocery, Kwik Liquor, Ace Hardware and Rainy Lake One Stop.

She married Kenneth Swenson in 1960, and they had three children, Doris Marie, Dorothy Ann and Audrey Joan.

She married Quentin Rogers in 1988, and moved to High Point, Fla., where she lived for 15 years.

After returning to International Falls in 2001, she worked with her daughter, Dorothy, at Battalion Distributing.

Ann attended Zion Lutheran Church and was a choir member for 17 years. She also taught Sunday School and Release Time. She was a member of Altar Circle, a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Past Matron in 1978 and 1979.

While living in Florida, she was president of the Community Performing Arts Guild, an outreach program of Mariner United Methodist Church, bringing cultural presentations to the residents of Hernando and surrounding counties.

She enjoyed traveling all of the 49 continental states, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Marguerite Aldrich.

Ann is survived by her daughters, Mary Fisher of San Diego, Calif., Doris (Jim) Regenscheid of Mankato, Minn., Dorothy (Danny) Battalion of International Falls, Minn., and Audrey (Bill) Webb of Brainerd, Minn.; six grandchildren, Skylar Fisher, Jeremy Regenscheid (special friend Nikki Sanders), Dustin Battalion (special friend Kristen Colmbs), Brandon Battalion, Colten Rosendahl (special friend Ali Smith) and Cambria Venne; great-grandchildren, Cameron Sanders-Regenscheid, Nvy Jae and Haliegh Ann Rosendahl; brother-in-law, Jim Aldrich; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Zion Lutheran Church.

Memorials in her memory are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church.
