Members of local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops participated in placing American flags at Forest Hill Cemetery May 26 for Memorial Day services May 27. The Peter Graham Post and Auxiliary welcome the youth to this tradition of placing a flag at the site of each veteran’s grave. The youth are paired up with a post or auxiliary member in placing the flags. Participants report this event is a great time for youth to learn about the area’s history. Afterwards, the youth were presented with VFW “Student Participation Awards.”
