Christina Ross

Christina Ross, 56, wife of Stephen Ross, passed peacefully, lovingly, comfortable with grace and dignity, Saturday, April 7, 2012.

Christy, a beloved daughter, wife, sister, auntie, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, and friend, passed away from her battles of cancers.

Christy was born March 4, 1955, to Capt. Charles and Cindy Adams.

Always on the move, as are all nomadic military families, the Adams family crisscrossed the country with over 29 moves accompanied by as many “critters” as family could manage to move with them. Christy and Buck literally moved their best friends with them. The entire family enjoyed favorite tours at West Point, on the beach in Hawaii and in Alaska.

Christine worked her way through Western Washington State University by spending the summer working on the Alaska Pipeline project. Shortly after graduating with honors in 1977, Christy met her future husband, Stephen Ross in Alaska.

Christy and Steve spent several wonderful years working on the pipeline in the summer and wintering on Steve’s sailboat in Hawaii.

In 1988, Christy and Steve moved to Portland, Ore. While Steve attended Western States Chiropractic College, Christy, following her call to help others, enrolled in the National College of Naturopathic Medicine. After graduating with honors, Christy received her license to practice as a naturopathic doctor in 1992. She and Steve worked side by side in her medical practice in Aloha, Ore.

Christy is survived by her parents, Col. Charles and Cindy, Alexandria, Va.; husband, Steve Ross, Beaverton, Ore.; brother, Buck Adams, Anchorage, Alaska; nephew, Chad Adams, Anchorage; mother-in-law, Mrs. Larry (Dorothy) Ross, International Falls, Minn.; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Sue Beck, Virginia, Minn.; and sister-in-law, Patty Ross (Mark Boe), International Falls.

Services were conducted Wednesday, April 11, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Portland, and at her parents’ residence in Goodwin House Chapel, Alexandria, Va., Sunday, April 15.

A “Celebration of Life” is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the home of Patty Ross on Dove Island.
