Fifty-five walkers from the community donned rain coats and sported umbrellas Sunday as they walked from Smokey Bear Park to Ranier and back to raise money for the Crop Walk. More than $5,500 was raised that day and more is expected to be turned in, according to Pat Norby, one of the organizers. The event helped raise funds for the Falls Hunger Coalition and Salvation Army, with remaining funds supporting Church World Service and other designated international agencies for relief and development programs. Walker participation came from Bethany Lutheran Church, Evangelical Covenant Church, Faith United Church of Christ, Falls Hunger Coalition, First Lutheran Church, Littlefork Lutheran Church, and the Salvation Army.
