Daniel Timothy Ramquist

Daniel Timothy Ramquist, M.D., 59, of International Falls, Minn., passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Essentia Health, Duluth, Minn.

Daniel was born July 5, 1953, in Winton, Minn.

He graduated from Ely Memorial High School, Vermillion Junior College and Macalester College, and later went on to attend the University of Minnesota Medical School, graduating in internal medicine.

He met Robin Schroeder at Hiawatha Bible Camp when they were children, and they later married on Aug. 31, 1973, at Embarrass Lutheran Church.

Daniel worked as a staff physician at the Lenont Peterson Clinic in Virginia, Minn., the Littlefork Medical Center, East Range Clinic in Virginia, Minn., Essentia Health in International Falls, Minn., and Burntside Consultants Clinic, International Falls.

He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed spending time at the cabin at Burntside Lake, and enjoyed life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Marie Ramquist; brother, John Ramquist; grandparents, Amy and Axel Osberg and Emma and Gustaf Ramquist; father-in-law, Delmer Schroeder; niece, Rachel Larson; nephews, Martin Schroeder and Jamie Miner; sister-in-law, Sharon Schroeder-Niemi; and beloved pets, Chipper-Marie, Chuckles Delmer, William Albert, Biscuit Rose and Freckalina.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Robin Ramquist of International Falls; sister, Sandra (Dennis) Larson of St. Paul, Minn.; brother, Jim (Kim) Ramquist of Bloomington, MN; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and mother-in-law Darlene Schroeder of Embarrass, Minn.; in-laws, Robert and Rosemary Schroeder of Tower, Minn., Rebecca and Mark Semeja of St. James, Minn., Richard and Deb Schroeder of Biwabik, Minn., Randall and Valerie Schroeder of Embarrass, Minn., Ronald and LauraLee Schroeder of Spring Creek, Nev., and Ramona Skoglund of Roy, Utah; special friends, Peg and Joe Fults, Hugh Kirkpatrick, and all of his patients; and his pet-children, Corky James, Sophia Marie and Joey.

Memorials may be made to Dan and Robin’s Burntside Consultants Clinic.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Green-Larsen Mortuary with Masonic Service beginning at 6:30.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Zion Lutheran Church.
