Dora Oettinger

 

Dora Oettinger, 92, of International Falls, Minn., died Monday, March 19, 2012, at Littlefork Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Dora was born April 23, 1919, in International Falls.

The former Dora DeMarchi married Gerald C. Oettinger on June 23, 1941.

She was a homemaker, belonged to St. Thomas Aquinas Church and was a previous member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

Dora volunteered at the Good Samaritan Society-International Falls for many years as a hairdresser.

She and her husband, Jerry, were longtime members of the local Moose Lodge.

Dora was an avid knitter and a wonderful cook.

She loved her grandchildren and her family, and was an avid dog lover.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Genevieve; husband, Gerald; and sisters, Lena Parbst and Alma Christie.

Dora is survived by sons, Don (Myrna) of Lakeville, Minn., and Roger (Gloria) of International Falls, Minn.; daughter, Lynn (Victor) Davis of Fort Frances, Ontario; eight grandchildren — Chris, Kara, and Annie Oettinger, Roger and Scott Oettinger, and Victor, Angela and April Davis; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Aldo (Shirley) DeMarchi.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 23, at Green-Larsen Mortuary with Recitation of the Holy Rosary offered at 6:30.

Mass of the Resurrection will be offered at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at St. Thomas Catholic Church.

Interment will be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials in memory of Dora may be made to St. Thomas Catholic Church or Borderland Humane Society.
