Edith Dahl

Edith A. Dahl, 93, a resident of Loman, Minn., died Saturday, June 9, 2012, Rainy Lake Medical Center hospital campus.  

Edith was born Aug. 31, 1918, at the family farm in Clementson.

She attended a one-room school in Clementson, the Border Elementary. She graduated from Indus High School in 1936.

Edith moved to Loman to work at the Loman Teacherage. There, she met the love of her life, George Dahl.

Edith and George were married on June 4, 1939 in International Falls. Together they raised three children, Dolores, James, and Philip.

Edith was a full-time homemaker; she worked part-time for her brother-in-law Bert C. Dahl in the Loman Store, and she did the bookwork for Dahl Logging. 

Edith was actively involved with Bethany Lutheran Church; she enjoyed quilting and church suppers.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nels and Ragna Lauritson; husband, George Dahl; brother, Robert Lauritson; and sisters, Irene Avery and Nora Scott.

Edith is survived by her children, Dee (Jerry) Arason of International Falls, Jim (Lillian) Dahl of Oak Grove, Minn., and Philip Dahl of Bemidji, Minn.; grandchildren, Douglas and Tom Arason, Kristopher (Terry) Arason, Melissa Skaug, Cindy (Matt) Wasche, Jesse Dahl and Tina Dahl; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jake, and Logan Arason, Colton and Joshua Skaug, Andrew, Natalie, Mike and Jake Wasche; sisters, Margaret Chenoweth and Eleanor Wilson; special nephew, Bertil (Marilyn) Dahl; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, June 13, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Loman.  

Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Loman. 

Memorials would be preferred to Bethany Lutheran Church, or the donor’s choice, in lieu of flowers.
