Esther Ruth Friberg, 77, of Ray, Minn., went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013.
Esther was born in Virginia, Minn., on Nov. 21, 1935.
She graduated from Falls High School in 1953.
The former Esther Hamos married Arthur Friberg on July 25, 1953, at Zion Lutheran Church in International Falls.
Esther loved to bake and cook, and enjoyed being hospitable.
She was active in the Ray Community, and loved animals. She was a member of the Berean Baptist Church, and she loved to feed the birds and deer.
Esther had a great sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and LaVanche Hamos; and her husband, Arthur Friberg.
Survivors include daughters, Faye (Bruce) Barrett of Ash Lake, Colleen (Ross) Crowe of Ray and Amy (Nathan) Steigman of St. Paul, Minn.; grandchildren, Kaleb Barrett, Teal (Chris) Cutts, Marissa Crowe and Matthew Crowe; sister, Mary Peterson; cousins, George Drianis and Tom Drianis; sister-in-law, Ellen (Cliff) Breneman; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special cat, “Keko.”
Visitation will be one hour prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service Friday, Jan. 18, at Berean Baptist Church.
Interment will be at Ray Cemetery.
In memoriam donations may be made to the American Cancer Society chapter in International Falls, North Star Hospice, Feline Rescue in St. Paul, Minn., Berean Baptist Church, or Borderland Humane Society.
