The Trails End Chapter of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association will again participate in the Hides for Habitat program, according to Rich Burgess, program chairman. Hunters will find habitat boxes at the Loons Nest, The Outdoorsman’s Headquarters and the Y at Highway 11/71 junction. To participate, hides may be dropped off at one of these locations. Last year, the local chapter collected more than 250 hides that were sold for the chapter by the state chapter to the highest bidder. It raised $1,000 for the Trails End Chapter. Across the state, about 30,000 hides were collected grossing more than $200,000 for habitat projects. All funds raised locally are spent locally along with a match by the state chapter.
