Inez Kathryn Turnquist, 85, of International Falls, Minn., passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Rainy Lake Medical Center hospital campus.
Inez was born Nov. 25, 1926, in Alexandria, Minn.
She worked as a clerk at Ketola’s Department Store and Ballan-Jensen Furniture.
She and her husband Norman owned Border Rock Shop, making and selling agate jewelry for several years.
Inez was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, served on the Zion Lutheran Church Council, and was president of the resident council at Good Samaritan Society-International Falls.
She was also a member of Rainy Lake Horticulture Society and the Margaret Corell Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Emma Persson; husband, Norman Turnquist; infant son, Kevin; and brothers, Lloyd and Duane Persson.
Inez is survived by her son, Kenneth (Linda) Turnquist; daughters, Karen (Kalman) Johnson and Kathryn (Charles) Hughes; grandchildren, Sarah (Matt) Lucca, Damian (Betsy) Johnson, Jessie (Frank) Wanker, Gretchen (Jared) Davies, Elizabeth (Seb) Crepieux, Borje (Britt) Lundquist and Keith (Andrea) Turnquist; 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Alice Bollum, Amy Harrison and Eunice Puckett.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 11, at Zion Lutheran Church.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
