Jeanne D. Gerard, 87, of Grand Forks, N.D. and formerly of International Falls, Minn., passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 in Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Jeanne Darlene DeMars was born Jan. 23, 1925, in St. Cloud, Minn., the daughter of Norman and Edith (Wilson) DeMars. She lived with her family in International Falls and Grand Forks. Jeanne married John F. Curran Sr. on Jan. 23, 1945, in Oklahoma City. Following their marriage, they lived in Hibbing, Minn., and later International Falls, Minn. John preceded her in death in May 1974. Jeanne married Harold Gerard in Grand Forks in 1975. Harold preceded her in death. Jeanne continued to reside in Grand Forks until her death. She enjoyed golf, bingo, going to casinos and playing Blitz. In her younger years, she was an avid knitter.
She is survived by her sons, Norman (Bonnie) Curran, International Falls, Minn., Richard (Ella) Curran, International Falls, Minn., Thomas Curran Ely, Minn., Steven (Sherry) Curran, Woodland, Calif.; daughters, Roberta Gerlach, Eagan, Minn., Edith Kathleen (Steve) Salisbury, Grand Forks, N.D.; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, John and Harold; a son, John Curran Jr.; a brother, Warren DeMars; sisters, Lucille, Nola, Elaine and Juanita.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2012, in the Gregory J. Norman Funeral Chapel.
Family greeting will be one hour prior to the memorial service in the funeral chapel.
Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery North, Grand Forks, N.D.
