Josephine L. (nee Tharp) O’Brien, died Monday, March, 11, 2013.
She was born Jan. 27, 1928, in International Falls.
Survivors include her children, Donald (Suzanne), Gerald (Sheila), Carol (Jim) Jaques and Sandra (Jim) Travers; grandchildren, Philip, David, Michael, Erin, Katherine, Jeremy, Ryan, Kelly and Shawn; great-grandchildren, Emily, Aidan, Will, Erica and Riley; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and special friend, Cal.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents, Cecil and Mabel Tharp; and brother, William (Annette) Tharp.
She raised her family on the Eastside of St. Paul and was a St. Paul Public School secretary for 20 years.
She was an avid bowler, crafter, sewer, crocheter, baker, gardener and sports fan.

A memorial service was conducted in Arden Hills, Minn.
Memorials are preferred to donor’s choice.
